I understand that sometimes it can be hard to find time to take a shower, or, you know, eat something that resembles proper nutrition throughout the day, let alone binge watch an entire season of some “must-see TV show.” And I’ll admit, the title of this post is meant to be a bit “click-bait-y,” but if you sneak in an episode here and there, like at 1 a.m. when you are wide awake for no reason even though you are extremely exhausted, or when you have two weeks of laundry to fold on a Sunday afternoon and refuse to watch another football game or episode of Caillou, you can finish an entire season in a matter of days.
Here are the shows that I turn to when I need a mommy break:
Gossip Girl is for the mommas who love fashion, a little bit of mystery, lots of drama, and are still young at heart.
Downton Abbey is really as good as everyone says it is. This is for the mom who likes highbrow entertainment with a dash of history. You might especially love Downton if you enjoy reading historical fiction. Plus the costumes are amazing.
New Girl is easily one of my favorite sitcoms of all time. Whenever I need a good laugh (and by good laugh, I mean it brings me to tears) I watch an episode of New Girl… and generally that episode turns into 3 or 4 episodes. If you like quirky humor, you’ll love this show.
There are very few shows I would rewatch, but Gilmore Girls is one of them. It’s fun, quirky, sentimental, all the things you’d want in a show. If you have a tween or teenage daughter, watch this with her. It’ll be a great bonding experience!
