The Mom Bun

7 out of 7 days a week you will see me in a topknot–aka the ‘mom bun.’ Before my child, my affinity for the topknot was a deliberate style choice. After my child: what choice do I have?

Between my 5:30 a.m. wakeup call and 6:40 a.m. must-be-out-the-door-deadline, my morning looks a little something like this: must find clothes for work (hopefully clean ones), steam the hubby’s shirt, get dressed, put the hair up, attempt to make my face look like I had a solid 8 hours of sleep, brush my teeth, hopefully remember deodorant, change Grey, find all the pieces to Mr. Potato Head to pack for grandma’s house, chase Grey around the house begging him to let me put his shoes on, cook something that looks like breakfast, get our lunches together, God forbid I forget my coffee, and if I’m lucky use the restroom.

Though the mom bun has become a necessity rather than a choice, I still kind of love it. I mean, you can literally wear it with anything and to anything, from the grocery store to your best friend’s wedding. So, I thought I’d share some fun variations of every mom’s favorite do. You know, just to mix it up every now and then. 😉
