Misguided Book Club: Chick Lit

I really love this quote by John Green, because as a mom it can often feel like the world is never quiet. Reading a book allows me to take some time (naptime and bedtime, that is) to just sit and be quiet, to get lost in my imagination–to simply chill out (add of glass of wine, and I definitely find that quiet place… ZZZZZZZ).

In hopes that other moms would share my joy of reading, I decided to make a regular “book club” post to share some of my favorite reads.

Starting with the fun, easy reads…Chick Lit!

I’ll admit, I watched the movie (maybe, possibly more than 100 times) before I read the book, but The Devil Wears Prada  is just as fun in literary form. If you are especially keen on the world of fashion, Hollywood, and public relations, you’ll love this book.

The characters in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants are super relatable, you’ll catch yourself saying “Oh that’s totally ‘so and so’ in our friend group,” making you a bit nostalgic for the times before mommyhood. And then you’ll definitely want to read The Second Summer of the Sisterhood.

I found Party Girl on Amazon Prime Reading, and I enjoyed it so much that I bought the next two books on the Kindle App (Sweet Girl and Smart Girl ). It’s your classic girl meets boy, someone messes up, love wins, happily every after story.
